It's an X230. There were minor variations in hardware and trim from year to year, and one of the things that changed was the 5-way selector knob was replaced with a 3-way switch, as most people didn't want that many options.

The Fan-style headstock certainly means it's 77 or later, and made by Matsumoku. I would say however that the old-style cover on the bridge humbucker means it's not later than 77 or 78.

It's unknown how many were made. It's certainly not an ultra-rare guitar, but perhaps it's fair to say uncommon? I'm not sure, the LP fans around here may have something to say about it.

Beautiful guitar! Did you buy it in Finland? Electra guitars were mainly for sale in the US, so I wonder if someone carried it over there.

Being the guitar junkies that we are, we would love to hear the story of the guitar and how you play it.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing the pictures of your beauty!

Cheers,
Paul

P.S.- Finland rocks! Aki Kaurismaki rules! My wife is part Finnish, that just shows my good taste :)

Thanks bro !!!!!!!
Yes I bought it from a american guy who moved from california to Sweden about 5 years ago and he was a hell of a need of cash so I did get this beaty very cheap( around 100usd ) , I like this guitar very much , the neck is fat as [Foul Language Used] , but I love it, I'm into collecting -70 ties japguitars, mainly matsumoku ones, so If you have some goodies for sale please let me know.
all the best wishes jarkki from rockin' Finland !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should check out the Guitar Gallery site for more Matsumoku guitars. There are a number of interesting Matt brands, Aria Pro of course, but Ventura is another brand that appears on ebay and is cheap (great classical guitar!) and Skylark is another odd Matt classic.
