Just got this beauty...I've tried to do my own footwork but couple models that are close are a little different. I think everything is original by looks of things. Solid body...two solid maple pieces at least rather than full ply body...ply at very top only to form arch and get curl veneer on top. Standard LP layout on knobs, 3 way switch looks original but cant say for sure. Wave head, foil serial - serial # 19xxx, model number left blank. This is a keeper, not a reseller.

Seems close to Omega, but tone knobs different, like standard LP,
close to x220? I think but some things different

I've been a dabbler for 25 years. I try to convince myself that sounding more like Neil Young than Eric Clapton is perfectly acceptable.

Any help is appreciated, I am dealer in old/vintage furniture and not figuring things out drives me insane!
Thanks!!

It looks like a 2249 Super Rock. Click on the index of models near the top left of the page and the click on that model.

Not an Omega - that would have a set neck.

8) That is a 2249 Super Rock LP style from 1977 or later as it has the wave headstock. Hard to determine exact production dates on the models with the foil stickers but somewhere between 1977-1981 or so. Scroll down on this link to see info. Looks all original other than the control knobs. These are great players and built like a tank so enjoy and welcome to the forums. Great Score.

Thanks, that looks to be it. Maybe the pickup cover remval threw me off..and the knobs.

WHat qualities does removing that one pickup cover produce?

The black twin hole cover on your rear pickup is correct, as are the square pole pieces. Someone may have replaced or at least turned around the Neck pickup, the adjustable poles should be next to the fingerboard. I think the knobs have been changed, they should be clear:

Lots of people took off pickup covers in hopes of (I guess) getting a hotter signal, thank Jimmy Page for that craze. I'm not convinced it did much, you could probably find arguments either way on the interweb. Electra did it for the aesthetics, a lot like putting racing stripes on a Plymouth Duster! Where it counts, in the windings and materials, Electras almost always used identical pickups in the Neck and Bridge positions, and the resistance in ohms usually was very close on a given pair. I prefer the Bridge pickup to be hotter than the Neck pickup personally. But I don't go modding 40 year old guitars either! Congrats, Mike.

Were the Electra's actually cheaper than LP's back in 70s? This E model shows as being $450 new in late 70s. Thats about $1500-1600 in 2013 dollars. I've heard they were [dis]regarded as more affordable alternatives. This feels every bit as nice as and looks cooler than the LP Studio I had and I'm pretty sure I could walk out my door with $1500 and come home with a new LP (studio or something) within a couple hours. Regardless, my goal is to find the grossest weirdest most obscure 60 year old mean ass amp in the world tonight at the junk auction for $20.

Thanks everybody for the welcome to the club.

I did have a Phoenix X150 I believe it is about 2 years ago...it was rough, I see somebody got 1000 for one on the bay recently.

Nice axe; welcome to the Forum -

I believe the 70's prices for Electra guitars were somewhat more affordable than the big name companies, but were still a little high for the day.

My MPC's were priced new in the $500 - $700 range although the X330 was marked down from $675 to $399. A good deal for the day.

These are pics of the X330 actual hang tags which are still in the case -
