I just picked up this Electra Phoenix today and I love it! I'm not sure if it's really an X155.
It looks like the anniversary model but I haven't seen one with this headstock logo. It doesn't have the badge on the back of the headstock....any ideas!

This guitar has 2 push/pull pots.

The X155 had a hard tail bridge, the X165 had a vintage tremolo like your photos, and there was a pearl white version X165pw. Splitting hairs? I know, but welcome to the world of many, many variations on the Phoenix model. They sport the rarer 2 volume, 2 tone knob layout, and you may really like the blending that 2 volumes allow. The Rene Lopez sticker is a bonus too. Congrats, Mike.

I thought the X165 only had black hardware, not chrome. Is it possibly an X155 with a changed tail piece?

Yeah, welcome to the Wonderful World of Phoenix.:-)

I have both models, one of which is a dead ringer for the one you have... brass bridge and Pearl White headstock, Rene tag. Also, X155s have standard size dot fret markers. Every X165 I've seen has mini-dots. My guess is that these were early run X165s. There's not a thing wrong with what it is. The X155s and X165s are actually my favorites in the Phoenix line, except for the X199 which is a completely different animal.

The white on these has aged to a beautiful golden butter, the necks are superb and they can take playing hard and long. If you want more of a hardtail thing, just lower the bridge all the way.

But watch out... it's very easy to get hooked on amassing these undervalued rockers. ;-)
