I don't know for certain, but I'd say no relation to the SLM electra organization... Just shared a name.

Man, those fuses mounted to the outside of the chassis open like that. I don't think I would even USE that thing. You'd likely get the heck shocked out of you if you accidentally reached back there and touched one of those. And they are right there where you connect your speakers (so a speaker cuts out, and you reach back there to wiggle a speaker wire and POW). If you DO decide to use it, cover those fuse assemblies up some how (when it is unplugged of course). Minimally put electrical tape all around them so you can't bump them. That is enough to make Underwriters Laboratory have a baby - bare fuses open like that where someone could easily touch them. It appears to be early solid state anyway, so probably not worth using or repairing.

I had the holy cr@p knocked out of me by a Univox guitar amp once that did something equally as brilliant - it could have killed me. So I don't have much tolerance when I see something that dangerous in a design. :toopid:

So now you all know WHY I am the way I am... What is wrong with me - that explains it :-?

I think those are speaker fuses, the mains fuse is to the left in a standard socket. I've blown a couple speaker fuses over the years mixing and matching incorrect impedance loads, its darn convenient when the manufacturer even thinks to design it in, as opposed to blowing up the output transformer.

I'd be certain. I am too used to working on tube gear. If it were tube you would NOT want it to open up. That's a good way to guarantee a burnt tranny. But ss is different.
