This rare / possibly one of a kind X145 in Metallic Green went up for sale on the 'Bay and was picked up by a fellow forum member (not me). The stamped serial number on the headstock dates it to October of 1981 and is with the early / test models that were first shipped to SLM from Japan. This is the only seen version of the X145 in Green (all of the others were Red or Blue).

Yeah, Ron - I watched that one and was really, really tempted; shipping kills these deals stone cold dead, as far as I'm concerned.... :(

Good to see Jack get it, though; perhaps that coffee table book he was talking about is now a little closer!!

However.... I do have a new addition.... APII PE150, P-90s, LP double cut copy which is just epic...

I asked Tom Presley about this Metallic Green X145 on the Electra Facebook page and here was his response:

Tom Presley: There were a few in the Metallic Green. We were testing some colors for various markets. We did a Metallic Black that was really cool also but none of them really popular. The black actually tested better than the others but I already had too many variations. Maybe 24 of each were made for US production after the first 6 prototypes - (NAMM) and Dealer samples...

Now I want to see a Metallic Black one......

I've got a Spectrum LX in what Westone describe as Metallic Black... it's a very deep black, yes.. but still, just black?
I wonder if that's the same metallic black that TP's talking about...?
