One of my guitars has a neck that is bowed up, causing the action to be unnecessarily high. I have been loosening the truss rod a little bit every day, and it doesn't seem to change. should I be going the other way and tightening it?

Are you going left or right

left is the way for a bow. also be very carefull... put one hand on the back of the neck. one on the front of the head.VERY GENTLY push on the top of the neck.loosen the stings first.

If you have already loosened the rod it is a good idea to take the nut off, if it is accesable, and lubercate it before tightening it. Try no more than a 1/4 turn each time on the nut after it is snug. Never force things. Sometimes it can take a day or two for a neck to settle in after it has been adjusted. Good luck.

Lefty loosey... I did loosen the strings first. I'll try tightening and see if the neck straightens. This is the Univox I posted in another thread.

Just a little everyday? That's what I did to loosen it, I'll do that tightening it.

A little every day is the safest way to go but not neccasary unless you suspect a problem with the rod. What I was trying to say was turn it no more than 1/4 turn, then check it. When it is close to where you want it, let it sit for a day or two and then if neccasary continue or back it off as appropriate.
