Anyone have or know where I can get an X165 wiring diagram? Or even another model that will work?

If you can't find the x165, try looking for a Futura diagram, it should be the same. Both have 2 HB and V-V-T-T set ups. I have some pictures of the Futura pots if that will help.

Yup - the futura picture below shows a typical V and T for each pickup, but the tone controls are push/pulls. The top push/pull makes both pickups into single coils, and the bottom tone control push/pull flips the phase. There is a link to a diagram that does the same thing, just they put the push/pull switch part on the volume controls instead of the tones.

The pictures are pretty darned good. You can see what is going on if the same pickups are used. 500K pots for all, and a standard 3-way switch.
