Hi,
I just got this guitar a few months ago.
When I first got here, the pots were stuck shut and the pickup connections on the toggle switch were off. So I soldered the switch back together and DeOxited the pots and got them working. So all I needed to do was clean and polish the frets and replace some badly corroded screws.
I finally had time to remove the strings and hardware. Did the frets, replaced a few screws and polished her up.
After I got it all back together and restrung, I plugged her in. The squealling and screaching feedback was atrocious. I was pretty torqued, because she was not doing it before I did the minor tune up on her.
I checked and the toggle switch has now come loose in the middle lug, so I just recleaned on soldered it back together. Now it still is noisey, unless I turn the tone pots down past 3. The hum is also something fierce.
A long winded explanation, but does this sound like a grounding issue? I unscrewed the posts on the bridge, would that have done something to the grounding wire. I did not touch any of the pot wiring. Would a bad pot cause it to screech so bad? There are also some pix of the insides, not sure if they will help.
I am at a loss. I will rewire the entire thing if best. I am new at this, but will figure it out.
Since there are no dumb questions I decided to post....hopefully the dumb questions have answers.
Thanks.

Could have something going on with the toggle but I'd try another cleaning on the pots and check the wires again. Look for anything touching. That is a nice guitar and good photos of the insides.
