Ended up with the X260 I've been looking at for about a year by strange coincidence. Turns out it had a Bigsby on it once. And has a horrible patch job and a lot of weird scratches around where the Bigsby used to be. Any suggestions to resurrect or relic the top of this guitar? I'll get a pic up soon of the body. The patches are subtle in most light but when you look right at them them they're horrendous. Woke up late, slow start but this is at the top of my to do list, fixing up this guitar beyond the setup I gave it.

My bad. Forgot I needed to charge my camera. Here's a couple pics of the filled holes from where the Bigsby used to be. They got the color almost right but the fills aren't very good. And like I said you usually cant see 'em but when you can it's just a total "aww man" moment. I'm up for whatever you suggest.

It's part of the guitar's story, I'd let it alone like that, myself.

Making all that disappear may be an involved task. You'd be filling, restaining, finishing and sanding.

I think it looks good, it's an old guitar with a story to tell.

Ehh. I kinda got burned on this guitar, so I want to make it 100%. And the guitar as is is like 99% as is for its age. But these fills and scratches are just so bad, man.

Not sure if it would be invisible but the best way I know (and I'm not an expert at this) is to drill and glue in dowels, they dont have to go deep just enough to fill the hole (like the dowels that cover screw holes). But like The Chad said, you still have to match it. You can knock them in enough that they are low enough to level the finish when done so you dont have to sand a lot.
