Hello,
Does anyone know how to deguass ceramic magnets ? I want to make the ceramics a little weaker in the Asian humbuckers I have.
I had thought about replacing them with ALNICO but the shipping cost more than the magnets.
Thank you in advance.

Never tried that -

But there are discussions on the seymour duncan forum. Do a google search. You can do it with a neo magnet, wave it over the pickup one direction discharges. Another way it charges. while still in the guitar. If you try it please report back. Although it will likely cost more than the replacement magnets, it sounds like it might really be promising.

They also discuss "airbucking" and I have not tried that either, although I think it has been done to the "air" series of dimarzios (I have some of those, I like my air norton). That would involve taking the pickup apart.

Interesting reading. Now I want to get a neo magnet and try this.
