You could, I suppose, install either a kill switch for the h/b output, or re-wire completely with a superswitch so you can get north/south/both coils on the h/bs and the middle on their own, or combinations??

Thanks a lot!!! I have Electra Dynasty (1983 red one with strat bridge) for 17 years and always used only bridge humbucker never knew what combinations you can do with the rest of the knobs! Yeah, too sad that it's impossible to use only middle single coil pickup, well, besides that this guitar rocks!
