Well, I've aquired my second Electra, first was my X260, and now I own a x230 - I've been reading up on its cirtuitry, and have learned that the toggle switches next to the vol/tone pots are Low pass filters, not coil taps like I originally thought.

I am overall very pleased with the X230, however it is a great deal bassier and ultimately muddier than I am used to - I am much more accustomed to the range that a SG provides. I've been looking at ways to brighten up the tone, and have come up with two possibilities:

Swap the Volume and Tone pots with 1 meg pots - Can anyone verify that stock they have 500k pots?

Change out the capacitors on the toggle switches to either be less bassy in the standard position, or cut less bass when the filter is on. I am unsure how the capacitor acts in this situation, and don't know whether I should be going up or down in cap value. The caps on the switches are .005s I believe, so I will most likely try something slightly above and below to see what effect it has, but I thought I would see if anyone out there might have any ideas here.
