i just recieved a X185 pheonix electra westone and the whammy on it is great exept that it makes my guitar go out of tune. it doesnt have a floyd rose so it is obvious that it is not good for the tuning of the guitar. when i push the whammy down and release it, the guitar is tuned in a way and when i pull up on the whammy and release it, all the strings are tuned slightly higher and it is inconvinient during shows. can someone help me??

Is the trem a traditional style, or something else? The traditional strat - style trems generally don't bend up; they are set flat on the guitar body with the bevelled front edge allowing down-wobbles, not upwards ones! My X195 has a strat style bridge and it's OK for stratty-type bends but if I want to play at being a shredder than I have to go to something equipped with a locking type set up; ie Floyd Rose, Kahler or in Electra-Westone's case, a Bendmaster.

I don't do much with a whammy but in my limited experiance lubercating the nut or replacing it with a self lubercating nut can help with tuning problems.
