 Post subject: MPC battery issues

My newly refinished MPC bass is draining its battery even when not plugged in. I never modified any of its wiring. Isn't the battery circuitry disconnected when unplugged? Anyone with any ideas, comments or suggestions?

The battery circuit is designed to shut off when un-plugged. Is it possible something was changed when it was refinished? I would look at the jack in particular. You could try cleaning the contacts on the modules in case something is going wrong there. A pencil eraser works well for this.
