I put batteries into my X250 made sure all connections were tight and checked over wiring nothings seems to be loose broken or burnt...but im only getting faint sound from amp when Eq switch is in down position..when the switch is up it plays normally and all controls respond normally..the last knob dosn't seem to do anything...So just curious if anyone knows any trouble shooting suggestions that might help me get to the bottom of this.

As with any troubleshooting process start with the simple stuff. I would check the battery connector solder connections inside the piece where the battery connects. They are a weak spot and if solder joint is loose or cracked you wont get power. If that is good I would give the switch a shot of cleaner to see if the contacts are clean. If that does not help then you can use a multimeter to check for opens or shorts from the battery backwards to switch etc to see if there are any problems. I wouls also check the connections on the EQ board. Hope this helps. Good luck

I lucked out when I got my X250, the gal who had bought it from her cousin didn't even know it had a powered circuit, and never really played it that much, when I got it I cleaned the battery connectors, put new batteries in and BAM it cranked right up for me. Here's the only photos I have of the circuit board, which don't really show every component, or what they're connected to, it's kind of a mess with all the wires:

I could take more if you'd like me to. I'd take a close look at the circuit board and make sure there aren't any obvious components missing, broken off or lose on there. The output jack is basically your on/off switch, so take a few minutes to look at that and make sure there isn't any weirdness going on there. That output jack should be a stereo jack (three tabs: Tip, Ring, Sleave... not just hot and ground), not a mono jack, which if someone in the past was working on it may have put in there. As with the MPC guitars, if you leave the guitar cable plugged in, the batteries will drain just FYI. (I'm still using the batteries I put in back in November of last year, and have put probably over a hundred hours of use on them).

If it's more involved than just a lose connection, I'm not sure what to tell you, needless to say there aren't any wiring diagrams or schematics (that I've found) for these rare powered EQ models, so you'll have to get a Volt/Ohm meter out and try to troubleshoot the connections and components on the board (not my idea of a fun time). Keep us posted, and good luck, Mike.
