so, I've been reading through the posts here, thinking through my X-720 Outlaw reconstruction...

are the 500k V & T pots audio or linear taper?
do the MPC control pots have to be 150k? and since it's technically a speed control, should they be linear taper?

I would expect the V and T to be audio taper. From looking at the ones I have there are different codes on the MPC control pots than on the V and T. That may be why. If you can find out from the codes, let me know and I will PM you.

I am pretty sure the 150K MPC pots are linear taper. I have not tried a more common 220 or 250K taper to see if it works (it might - don't know).

I did more research on the pots, and I actually found some 150k pots that were linear, but the mount holes would have had to be widened out on the outlaw, and I didn't want to do that... the lower resistance of the pots help keep the control signal clean, so I opted to go to some 100k pots from guitar electronics.com. I haven't started the rewire yet, but the 100's should work fine....
