Bent tuner question

I recently picked up a X950 Vulcan that has a bent tuner. It turns fine and holds tuning fine but it's pretty bent. A friend of mine mentioned that he knew someone that took a bent tuner to a machinist who heated it up and was able to bend it back.
I was curious if anyone here has ever tried this and if so - did it work?

Seems to me that would work as long as there are no plastic sleeves or bushings. Good luck.

You'll probably have to take apart the tuner and straighten the bent part separately. Depending on the part that's bent, it make not require heating.
