Even though it's not Electra, it is Japanese and I'm guessing some folks here have used them. How the heck do you do a setup on a Wonderbar? I just picked up a Washburn with one, did a string change and cleanup and I'm sorta baffled now

Wow! NOBODY has ever done a setup on one of these??? I woulda lost that bet.

I have seen them and am sure I have played a couple over the years, but I never set one up. So I DON'T KNOW.

There is a thread that either has instructions, a .PDF file they keep talking about, or someone on the thread might send you one. It is a LONG thread from the washburn forum. Good luck!

That stuff is like all the stuff I have, all installation instructions. Nothing on how to do a string change and setup. This thing is like the Cadbury secret, not even Washburn knows! To set up a Floyd or Strat, I'd just put shims in the bridge, tighten strings, then tighten claw screws till shims fall out. For the life of me I cannot figure this thing out. I tune the strings and the bridge ends up on a 45 degree angle...grrrrrrrrr.

this isn't it? It says how to adjust drop and pull up - maybe one of those? I really don't have a clue but would like to help. Maybe could figure out if I had one here (but hey, you are very experienced).

Let's not get crazy. I'm self taught somewhat proficient ...but this is strange and different...LOL. All I could find on this, yes I have this one, is #9 is supposed to control fore & aft...but it doesn't seem to. Might be defective, but it worked fine until I took the strings off.

AHA! That diagram is the key Thorny, I just needed you to slap me upside the head. The number 6 allen key is the, ahem, key. That seems to be the spring tensioner. I just tightened it up full and good to go.

I was focused on number 9 screw and frustrated it did nothing. LOL

All that said, it seems like a good trem. Very different feel but seems to stay in tune very nicely.

Is it anything like a Kaler? I have seen that type but never set one. My wish list has an Expoler copy with that.

Looks to be very similar to a Kahler but the wonderbar requires no routing at all. The thing stays in tune better than any trem I've played! Colour me a fan. This Washburn guitar however outweighs the les paul I just sold. Easily 12 pounds, maybe more.
