Hey Gang,
I don't know if this is the best location for this post, it seemed the most logical with regards to guitar construction.
I've tried to find more information on this topic but have not been able to get the information.
Here's the question(s):
Is there a logical reason or preference to select a certain f-hole shape on a guitar (thin, wider, profile)? There seems to be many options and I even see variance among our Electra semi-hollow type instruments. Secondarily, does the shape and placement affect the sound, and what are the differences?

I think our luthier trained experts could give an answer to this?
