Hi forum,

I've had this bass for a little while and after reading all the readmes here, think it is ok to post a link to my auction? I'm not a scammer or anything, just thought it's a 2-way thing... i can possibly get more interested parties, and collectors/fans can have the chance to bid for a guitar they might not have seen.

OK, it's an Aria Pro II Magna (MAB20) bass in black from the start of the 90s. It's in great condition, just scratches on the back (buckle?) and one little ding on the lower edge. Comes with a case (condition: has seen better days but more than usable!) and extras. I am in Germany but will ship within europe... shipping prices depend on country so please ask.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or if i have posted wrong information. Thanks!

Yeah, Its OK to post your ebay auctions here.

This one would be the Korean model I think.
Does it say anywhere on the guitar?

Agreed! It's nice to hear from thoughtful sellers who are available to offer information.

I may have an item or two to sell in the future, it's nice to have a place here to talk about it.

I've shipped guitars from England for about 100$ or so, I imagine shipping from Deutschland would be similar. Would you consider shipping to the US if the buyer were willing to pay?

Hi there,

I sure would consider anything if the buyer pays shipping. The only problem being that the only service i can find in Germany for shipping long basses doesnt seem to delivery outside Europe :/

Of course, there's always the option of unscrewing the neck. Or is that one to avoid?

I don't see any harm in unscrewing a 'bolt-on' neck, it's probably safer that way. anyone know otherwise?

the only harm i can imagine is if you were careless about reassembling it, and damaged the threads of the holes, or rounded off the screws. I've certainly seen some guitars that were badly abused that way, but with a little care it's easy to avoid that problem (mostly use the correct screwdriver, not one that's way too small or large).

Very good estimation !

Shipping via DHL AirMail is the only useful option :

A parcel with the max. dimensions of 120*60*60 cm (47,25*23,62*23,62") and up to 10kg (22lb) will cost 74,00 € (~87,63 $) - optional available insurance up to 500 € will cost 6,00 € (~7,10 $) - every additional 100 € insurance will cost 1,50 € (~1,78 $).

Same parcel as above, but up to 20kg (44 lb) will cost 126,00 € (~149,21 $).

The costs for longer items (lenght over 120 cm = 47,25") are absolute impertinence .........

@Tezza - schau mal beim Paketrechner (www.posttip.de) vorbei - passt immer ganz gut !

Nikki

Hi people,

Thanks for the information. Nikki... thanks for the tip! Die Seite kenne ich gar nicht.

OK, well then i guess unbolting the neck is definitely an option... if the buyer screws up while screwing it on, that's not really my fault.... as ever, give the buyer the option i guess.

Thanks for your help!

It looks like it has a lot of interest with 9 bids and 3 days left.

If its made in Korea doesn't necessarily mean bad.
It looks like a solid machine.

How did you like the way it played and sounded?
What are you going to use after its gone?

Well german ebay is a funny old thing at times. I did have an XRB too which i put on there in the summer, at that hardly fetched anything :( The guy who ended up getting that one was an Aria fan though, so at least it went to a good place.

I think it plays and sounds great, but i'm not really a bass player, i am a songwriter/singer/guitarist who records a bit of bass at home for my own projects. I also like collecting guitars (ibanezes mainly, but thats coz aria's dont come up too often round here). So i found a dirt cheap old bass by a firm called Shot, bought it to see if it satisfied my recording needs and it does, so i'm letting the aria go. I generally get other proper people to record the proper bass track for me when it comes to it anyway ;)

Also have recently picked up a very nice shortscale Höfner from the 60s, which seems to suit my playing skills better, as a guitarist. Still unsure whether to keep that once instead, or whether thats a stupid idea. Sorry for the long waffle there!

Well it went for 137 in the end incl. case, so someone got a good deal again on a good brand :)

One day Aria's will be as collectable as Ibanezes....until then, lets snap up those bargains ;)

Thanks to anyone who might have bid.
