I had one of those X420's Mick, I think that logo started some time in 1981 based on what I've seen...depending on the guitar.

Ya, the X420s seem to generally have that logo. I have an '83 VS with that same logo and Kyle Woods' on the models page (an '82) also has it. The black example on the models page is an '81 and does not have it. So it seems that logo did start at least as early as '82 and that the later years had this logo.

BTW, that ebay black one was kinda beat. I got mine on the bay 2 years ago and paid almost exactly the same for it (if you add in the shipping I would have paid on this one; shipping was included w/ BIN on mine and I couldn't hardly click fast enough when I saw it). Mine is NOS (literally) but for the one year that my prior owner had it (and presumably played it). Kyle's also looks brand new to me. It's a beauty and looks to be a twin to mine on condition.

I haven't had the pups out so I saved the ebay pic of his "61" pups for reference. Does anyone know anything about these "61" pups?
