I know some people have been looking, and this is the first Cherry Sunburst Endorser I've seen in about six months on the 'Bay. I can't verify it's originality, but it looks pretty clean and straight:

I'll be curious to see if he gets an opening bid at $1000, seller may be a bit optimistic. When I see what the 80's and 90's Les Pauls are going for it is a fair price in theory, and Frankly these guitars 'Feel' better (usually lighter, better heal), are more versatile than a Paul with the Coil Tap, and the Fit, finish and detailing are every bit as good as a Gibson.

I'm of two minds when it comes to pricing, part of me likes the fact that they are still reasonably priced (current example being an exception) but I think we'd all like to see some Value appreciation or at least some good old fashioned respect bestowed upon Electras made during their 'Golden Years'. Cheers, Mike.

Holy Shiza. I can't believe that he'll get any action at that price at all. Your right, it does look to be in good shape, but I can't believe even for a minty one he'd get any more then $600. What do you think, Mike? Does he actually have a shot at selling it for that much? As you say, value appreciation is all good, but I'd like to have completed my collection first! Ebay fees have gone up (Between Paypal and the bay you are looking at more then 10% fees), and even inflation may play a role, but I swear I saw a pristine (ish) one sell on the bay for $500 last year....

I left a message to the seller about originality, haven't heard back from him. I am wondering about the push/pull pots, and the pickups are both going the same direction (double holes in exposed pickup bobbins are on the same side, which is a no-no for phase cancellation). I do not think it left the factory like this, so there is a good chance that it's been tinkered with.

There are plenty of people who think the stock pickups are only so-so, it may not be a detraction if they aren't stock to some bidders, although I like at least the chance that the original pickups and wiring hasn't been messed with for something I'll bid on without being able to play it first (always a junk shoot with eBay purchases).

I doubt that anyone will take the 'Buy it Now' at $1000, but maybe someone who has been looking for one of the possibly 400 that were made is getting frustrated enough to bite on it. I wouldn't object, it just makes mine that more valuable! As I said, if you compare it to a Paul or even a PRS, it SHOULD be worth a grand... but you'll always have people out there willing to part with *lots* of their money for the name on the headstock, not the quality or versatility of the instrument itself, ahh well, it's their loss.

Same seller has an Electra 'V' (as already noted by MJP) and a pretty nice looking X420vs (I think...) as well as a few other axes listed currently... wondering where he unearthed them all? Later, Mike.

No sir, at first glance I'd say the other guitar he's selling is a x410 Jazz strad, but I didn't look closely. If you recall looking at my x420, the 420 models are far more similar to the x935 in fit and finish.

Yikes, I just looked back on this auction, and read one of the rudest replies from a seller ever:

Q: Hey, I was just wondering what makes this guitar worth a grand, I mean even MPCs dont sell for half that WITH modules, so whats so special about this..? May-23-08

A: yes people like you are making ebay suck. sorry to hear about your parents being brother and sister.

The question could probably have been put a little more tactfully, but jesus, the response is way out of bounds. This is typically when a seller would take the time to explain the virtues of his item, and frankly the Item Description was pretty sparse so some clarification would be in order. Anyway, the seller has lost my respect, even if the guitar is pretty nice.

I wonder if the crack pipe he was smoking when
he priced his stuff is included in the auction?
