My plan with the hole is to route it smooth and glue in an appropriately sized block of Mahogany. I will attempt to carve it to shape and then reinstall a tune o matic.

Does anyone know if the X310 had a maple cap as that could be harder to reproduce?

Well I got the hulk and am going to start a thread in "repairs and restoration" for anyone who is interested.
