Ok, this is why stuff gets chopped up. A beat up X185 would have probably garnered about $140, but split up this seller netted $260... and the winner has to try to piece it all back together and solder up the wiring before he can even play it. It looks like the same bidder got everything except for the bridge. Is there an emoticon for 'Facepalm'?

I'm all for refurbishing guitars and Ozark has done a great job Rescuing the Electra orphans he finds, but I hate this trend of chopping up guitars. I've watched for the past 20 years as Fenders have been hacked up and resold, so much so that I can't trust anything that I see for sale anymore. I was hoping that Electra would be spared this... I was wrong.

$113 for a beat up body???

Well, I wanted the tuners, but the neck soared past $50 and I didn't think it was worth paying $75 or more for six tuners.

The irony of this is that there is a clean X185 on eBay right now that will sell for less than the total of all those parts.

The idea that the same buyer was going after all this stuff... like you said, somebody must really want a project.
