That is indeed some very nice wood. Sorry to see a beauty like that gutted out. With the body in such good shape even if the electronics were shot I would have replaced the electronics and kept it whole. :bawl:

I saw this and it is sad. The first thing I thought was how could I bring it back? I've looked at the x270 and don't know what all the knobs/switches are for. Jead, how would you go about looking for replacement electronics for this? I can't imagine any are floating around?

Replacements would be very tough to find. I don't think the circuit board for the powered EQ can be found. The brass bridges are very tough as are the pots (if they're 150's - I think they aren't - should be more like 500k). The brushed aluminum cover plates you'd just about have to buy off this seller. Switches and knobs, tailpiece and nut should are pretty easy generic replacement parts. Pickups come around every once in a while. Tuners and truss rod cover - not so much.

You can see the tuners had been replaced a couple times already but those seem to be the only additional holes in the body. I believe its powered EQ days are over. With a lot of patience and a fairly good pile of money you "might" be able to get it very close to stock.

I think for around $250 (depending on tuners and pickup choices)you could put it back together with generics. The construction of the guitar itself makes it pretty resonant and I'm sure a very nice playing guitar could still be salvaged. It really is a shame the circuitry is gone because that really was unique to the guitar and is very nice. My favorite non MPC Electra.

Sandspur, here's your active eq board (special thanks to vidmachine, who installed one so maybe he could answer specific questions):

And here's the Brass Bridge I put on my Outlaw, comes with mounting posts:

I'm surprised that this is over a Hundred dollars, looks like a lot of parts and work to me. Best of luck to whomever takes it on, Mike.

That's fantastic the circuit board is still available! I'm happy to eat my words on that one  I need one of those brass TOM's for my Outlaw too. Did that one fit right in?
