I picked this up yesterday. I wasn't trying intentionally to cut you out of the action but I have been looking for an Electra with the 1 1/2 cutaway for quite some time. The price was right on this one because it will need some work, but it doesn't look to be an overwhelming amount of work. I looked at the spreadsheet and saw what these usually sell for and decided to go for it. As it turned out, the price paid was only $4 from my max bid. Due to this purchase I will be selling my '73 2252 with original case if anyone has interest. I doubt any modules come with this one, but maybe I'll get lucky like I did with the 2252.

Uh......junk. I'm also 1-1/2 less at the moment. Let me know what's up with that neck joint.

Will do. I'm a little apprehensive about the neck joint, but we'll see how it goes.

Well I received the guitar today. The neck joint is absolutely fine and doesn't appear to have ever had a problem. The only issue is the scratch below the neck joing and the finish is completely worn off in the area of the joint itself as seen in the auction pictures. There is also a chip on the top corner of the headstock. Besides this there are minor dings on the body.

The guitar needs a little work, but nothing big. It is missing the tailpiece so I will post in the parts wanted section for one. Unfortunately it did not come with any MPC modules. I'll take some pictures as I do work to it and post the results.

Glad to hear the neck is Ok - I had a feeling it was. You can probably get real close in color for refinishing it. The stopbar should be a standard LP. I think I recall that the studs and posts were still there. Is that one of the ones with the chrome outsides and gold middles?

Thanks Jead. I'm not sure if it is a gold middle and chrome outside to be honest with you. I looked at the pictures on the "Index of Models" page and can't tell because of age and wear. Are you saying that a standard LP tailpiece will fit, or do you mean an import (metric)?

On the missing lacquer I'm thinking of using an electric burn in knife and lacquer sticks to fill in the finish. I have no experience with these but I would start and experiment with some of the dings and nicks around the body first. I'm skeptical of the lacquer pens and don't want to do a total refinish. I'll take some pics of this guitar tomorrow and post in the repair and restoration forum. I'm open to any suggestions should anyone have any.

By the way, I've been watching your SG repair and you are really doing a very nice job on that guitar.

I measured up the tailpiece on my X330 and the total length is 100 mm (3 -61/64") and 82mm (3-15/64") center of studs, string spacing 10.4mm (13/32") and that, my friend, is " standard" LP stuff. So about $10 bucks will set you up on that. Nearly all tune-o-matics will have the same specs so no need to worry about metric or sae.
