Several of you have e-mailed me about an auction that is now on E-Bay asking whether or not this Outlaw is really mine....

Yep.

Tim Harman is a very dear pal of mine for over 20 years. He has taken an interest in my "musical" background and we've randomly discussed everything from politics to which guitar/pickup would sound best for blues with a black faced Fender played in a 12 x 12 ceramic tiled bathroom while the shower was running!

I've asked Tim to post some instruments on E-Bay on my behalf. Frankly, I didn't want to pursue this myself since it may seem self serving, not to mention the fact that I have little or no experience with the E-Bay world.

I've also been asked whether or not there will be other instruments sold. Yes, there are a couple of one off "mule" Outlaws that he will post and a couple of other Pre-Production Prototypes. These are all very special to me and the stories that surround the instruments will likely cause a plethora of memories to surface.

Why are they for sale? OK, I'm 63 years old, I don't play them, my boys are not too interested - one of them is a lefty anyway - and I can always use the money. Frankly, the stories and memories behind the instruments are being documented by Tim and will be more beneficial to me personally than the guitars themselves.

So there you have it. The auction is real, Tim is credible, the guitars have a true provenance and there is only one of each of them in the world!

Thanks to those of you who have been so respectful and I sincerely hope that whomever invests in these instruments enjoys them as much as I have!

Tom

Care to share a short blurb about each one as it is auctioned? We love hearing the old stories!

8) Thank you Tom for the information and the opportunity to own a true one of a kind Electra. Best of luck to any and all that may pursue these pieces of art and history. I think the egas is about to bust open for all around here.

Shipping would kill anything from my end..... unless you've got a pick or two looking for a new home!!

Thanks for the heads up, Tom, and all the best with the sales! And, yes; I'd like to hear a story or two about individual guitars as they come up!!

John

Thanks for sharing this Tom. I think it is a great decision on your part to see that these instruments, rare and unique as they are from a historical and personal standpoint, are played first and foremost and the desire to see them enjoyed for their primary purpose is admirable.

As much as I am near-obsessively in love with the various Westones we have around here (Panteras especially so), I must admit the x410 I found for my wife is still about the most luxuriously crafted guitar I have ever held. As she still has me rotating the crop with her playing I have not had to consider seriously yet the days that will come when it is time to part with them, but I do not look forward to those days with any sort of favor.

To have such a personal history intertwined with an entire brand must make for the very definition of bittersweet when a parting comes, but I applaud the intentions and hopes that are fueling your actions in doing so.

The very best of luck with all of your auctions and please, PLEASE share any and all of those bubbling memories as you might wish to do so.

Tom - have been wanting to ask you if you knew anything about Les Paul's Electra MPC X320 that was recently sold in auction -

If SLM sent it to him, or someone else did - or if not then maybe he actually purchased one?

Les Paul’s Electra MPC X320

https://www.julienslive.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/71/lot/27747/

Just asking -

Thanks, Randy.
