This is the reason I love this forum, everyone here never hesitates to help, offer up parts, etc. Thanks McB and Jead for the offers for parts-if it were closer to original I would return it back to stock, but with the finish gone, repairs, etc I think I'm going slightly more conventional. Some Vantage guitars I've played use an mmk45 in the neck, mmk53 in the bridge-happen to have both, will try to wire up for coil tapping/series/reverse phase for a broader tonal palette. Although I have thought about adding an onboard mod like EMG's afterburner-20db boost/gain or something along those lines,as long as I can do it without adding any more holes so it can be eventually returned to stock if wanted in the future. Any input, ideas on this would be appreciated.
Pro,the frets are 90%,neck looks great(w/no string tension),fingers crossed. The idiot manuever with the bushings did cause a slight separation, but I pulled them, crossdrilled the dowels for a better set when clamped-separation gone!
Just got the bridge, will drag out the forstner bits and drill out the bushing wells today-last thing to do before I can start the tru-oil on the body.
The hardest part is waiting the 10+ days after the tru-oil is done for assembly :D :D
Joe

If you're going to have a big empty MPC cavity, maybe one or two of these Mod-boards would be an option for you. I'm itching to try one of these out myself but just don't have the proper shell for one at the moment.

Very interesting.....wondering on the pot spacing from board terminals they clip to,if they matched up would be a great option

looking at the pictures though, the pots are on leads, so as long as the leads were long enough to get to the module cavity.....

Right - looks like you can place the pots just about anywhere. There's a diagram someplace in FAQ's for Strat or LP type placement. I think some of the modules have options for mini switches as well so these things seem like pretty intriguing options for the mpc cavity.

I looked online for reviews, all of them I found were pretty dated...'08,'09- seen things like shoddy, toy guitar sounding, really thin, etc. Maybe they have been improved, but I'm hesitant about them now.
Anybody else make something similar?

Awesome work, Joe. We've got to hang out some time. You should stop by the studio some evening.

I used the analog delay modboard to make an MPC delay module, and I helped a friend rebuild a lap steel with a built in modboard compressor. Both are ok, but not particularly stellar. If the compressor was connected to a regular guitar I could give a better assessment.

If you pick one or two effects to permanently mount, you could use any of several circuit boards, like the BYOC stuff.

Those 4P on-on-on toggle switches are cool but NOT at $28!
