Hi!

My wife bought me this cool Les Paul copy with carving and inlay in 1979.

Image
I thought it was a 1979 but foks on eBay told me it must be older since it has the lawsuit headstock and lettering. A guy says he has one and it's a Super Rock 2258 with "Tree of Life" inlay. Serial is 01308. Can anybody tell more about this axe? Is it a 2258? What year is it?

More pics at my auction:

It's true, the open book headstock was gone after 75- there was a transitional 76 style and after that it all went to wave-style.

I believe those are early magnaflux pickups, aren't they? I bet they sound great!

That instrument is going to be a choice score for somebody! Thanks for posting, it's always nice to hear from a seller.

If you go to the auction, and click on the buyers feedback number, you'll see that out of the last 10 or 15 auctions he's won over the last few weeks, most have been vintage les paul copies, several were electras, this guy must be a serious collector. I noticed a 70's Tokai set neck LP copy he won for around 1600.00. Must be nice to have money to spend on that many guitars that often, lol.

He's a friend of the page and a guy I've dealt with personally. Great guy and a large Electra addict
