This is a bio-identical to the early Electra Longneckers. All of the basses I've seen with the chrome truss rod cover like this one, have been Brands associated (somewhere) with Uncle Mat in some fashion. Electra, Aria, Ventura...

I love this color too.....

I saw another one of these, only in sunburst, on E-Bay as well, max bid was at $1.50.
I like them, but I prefer guitars with at least a name on them.
But yeah, the finish on this one alone is enough to get me to want it...
Great shape too, for what it is. A good buy in all I suppose.

okay....

here's another...

http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-KASUGA-ELEC ... .m20.l1116

in my first post, that blue one is identical to the first iteration of the Longnecker...
I've seen about 4 variations of it. Variations 2 & 3 are very similar to type 1.
type 1-3 all have the truss rod adjustment at the headstock, while type 4 has the adjustment at the heel. type 4 has a slightly narrower neck, more like a real J.

The Kasuga in this post (above) is identical to the 4th and final iteration (with peace sign logo) My favorite.

here's a nice 1st iteration exxample (though very pricey)

This one is a PCM version. SLM never sold any short scale Longneckers.

The PCM used slightly lower quality electronics and hardware, but the only SLM shortscale basses out there are the LP Rock Bass, and the Violin body style one.
