so now the question becomes, do I swap all the MPC stuff from the 310 into the 720? or leave the 310 the way it is, and use as a model for the revival of the 720.....

 I vote to leave the 310 as is as use it as a template for the other. That way you will have 2 when done.

Nice catch. I would leave it alone and use it as a model. Disconnecting the electronics would be a real pita.

Great price, and it looks like it's all there. Was that a buy-it-now, or did he end it for you? Sellers description of the problem leaves a lot to be desired... I'm not sure what's wrong with it from the brief statement.

I'm with the boys, I'd keep this one together if it hasn't been monkeyed with too much. You should see what's wrong with it, and I think there are diagrams of the five-way switch on here somewhere.

As far as the Outlaw, did you pickup that gutted one on Ebay that just ended? Take some high res pics and let us salivate over them too, Mike.

the x310 was a BuyItNow, and yes, I got the gutted outlaw off eBay too

yeah, I've got all the diagrams downloaded, and starting to collect parts for the outlaw.

The module sockets are gonna be the hardest part for me...

Fix the X310 if it really needs anything, then refurbish on the Outlaw.

got this one today... immediately took an eraser to the fuzz module contacts, added a new battery, and module works perfectly as far as I can tell :hyper:

back when I had my x-330 I didn't know anything about guitar electronics or the parts at all. just tried to play it.. since then I've only had MPC basses. It hought the brass ingot was specific to the Outlaw 6 strings, but I see the x-310 has it as well!

This one seems in pretty good shape. the 5 way selector and the #2 MPC control need some cleaning, but otherswise it's nice... it came with what appears to be a nearly brnad new Stagg hard shell case, that actually fits the Outlaw better... the X-310 is small enough that it will slide up until the headstock hits the top of the case, but the body of the outlaw stop it from moving much....

Good score!

The brass ingot and brass nut combination was used on the later 1976 and up MPC models, as well as some others (Vulcan, Workingman, X810, etc.); the ingot should be the same on all; would be interesting to know if it isn't.

Let us know.

I agree that all the ingots should be basically the same, so cool, you can get all the measurements you need off of that one. You said that it looked like it was glued in on your Outlaw, but I know the ingot is screwed in on mine, how is it attached on the X310?

So $250 and it just needed some electrical cleaning..? That's a gooooooal there! Good snag. It's cool that the outlaw fits the case, they won't fit a standard LP case I don't think. Even though they get compared to SG's, the Outlaw is more like a firebird with the neck through design, I think you're gonna like it man. So how many modules do you have now? Cheers, Mike.

I believe the ingots are screwed in and glued in. my outlaw has the screw holes, and a glue spot....

I just have the Fuzz module at the moment...

I was looking at some of my Electra pics I've saved off over the years, and the Outlaw is nearly the same body as the Lucite one, just with shorter horns... same body bevels too....
