This would be another nice candidate to see restored back to life. Has most of the parts needed other than the original pickups and would not require a high level of work just the time to put her back together again. Not certain if the switch pots are there or if it is in LP config but still worth saving.

I was looking at that one myself. I may have to sell my Les Paul and would love to restore this to a great Les Paul.

A couple things bother me though. One, the neck supposedly has some goop on the back of it, and you can see some damage.

Seller says: "Some glue on the back of the headstock. Don't see any cracks or repairs but there is goop there. Might clean up with some goof off or similar." Looking at the picture they supplied it looks kind of rough. It looks like possibly a repaired headstock to me that the person is trying to not disclose... I may read it all wrong. But you can't tell anything really from that picture. Second, it has an extra hole drilled between the lower knobs. Why do people do this?

Also they say "played fine when it was disassembled" but they also say "I don't know what it will take to get it going." That also bothers me. These guys are a parts house too. If they had it when it was disassembled they know exactly what it will take to get it going. I just don't know why someone would not just put it back together and sell it working like everyone else does. You would get more money out of it and it would sell easier.

No cavity covers for the back, non-original pickups, electronics. But likely original bridge and tailpiece (don't know for sure). If I was to do this, I would upgrade the electronics to make a killer Electra LP copy. I'd plug that extra hole. I already have a set of pickups for it. I'd get some grovers for it. I'd replace the original bridge with a newer gotoh style or a metric tone pros (I like to do that to my Electras that I play a lot). It needs the covers on the back, and those probably would have to be made. Also, it is a bit hard to tell how bad the frets are or if the fretboard is worn (like so many are). They say the frets are good. I can fix all that, but it is more work and money too.

I had one like that about 10 years ago (It was also missing parts so I wired like a Les Paul with some old dimarzios). They are excellent guitars - no one around here is surprised by that. Also, they have excellent feedback. But I don't know what that is worth any longer now that ebay has changed all the rules around - are feedback ratings still meaningful?

Hmmm, I wish I could have my hands on it - then I would know what to do.

There are 3 other omegas on there at the moment. All of them are nicer but more money. They need a lot less done to them and are more original. The one for $599 is fantastic!
