I am trying to buy this one because the Jacaranda has always been a fave, so unless you are prepared to go all in please keep back 500 feet:

1977 sounds about right. The last MPC's that we see in literature are the X930 Dot Neck Vulcans (Dickey Betts model) which was still listed in 1981 (even though the block marker Vulcan is the one pictured):

I think by 1980 all of the 'copy' style MPC's had been discontinued. (not an authority here mind you!) Good luck, Mike.

I was under the impression that SERIAL #20079 indicates an 82 MPC with the first number in the serial indicating the year of manufacture and the wave headstock indicating post 1976 models.

My X340 purchased new in 1977 has a serial number of 115xx.

the first number in the serial "dating"only holds true for '80+ originals. I don't think any of the full copies did....

The foil tags are useless for dating Electras (just the messenger here man), to further aggravate owners, they can become unreadable and many were yanked off. In addition, I've never been able to see a pattern as far as the higher the number the newer the guitar or anything, they seem kinda willy-nilly and all over the place. Just another lovable Electra quirk, right? Mike.
