looks like the S model could be full stain covereage, or just the edges like a burst....

This is a clean example of the model and I do like the burst color. Would be great to have the Axe and Bass as a match set. :up:

I can see the grain on my x-140 just like this. It is like the grain wasn't filled prior to paint and sanding. I am sure mine has been repainted red too. I can see white in all the grain openings. I really like the color of the one at auction.
