The other one is the exact one listed here on the forums description with the chicken head control knobs.

It has the later square style fret markers instead of the diamond. my guess is that they are different manufacturers but not certain. Both look very nice but very pricey also. 8) 8)

The real question is 'What do the three knobs do?' These guitars only have one pickup, so I'm more than a little confused what there would be besides Volume and Tone. Maybe someone who owns one could chime in (JD?).

These are striking guitars, and highly undervalued when compared to what Gibby's or even Ibanez's sell for. Someday the world will catch on. I wouldn't mind having one in the stable, but have to weigh the cost with the reality that it is something that I may only take out of the case twice a year... Mike.

Need to be careful with these situations... can end up with buying both, just to find out

Isn't that the truth?! That's the problem with collector/players. We'd actually do something like that.

That is ecactly what my egas is telling me. Buy them both and compare but this time my wallet and my wife are also giving their opinions. lol Still in negotiations as the Gbase one has had nut replaced with a bone nut and has also had repair under the bridge. On the other on the chicken head knobs I would think are not original but I am awaiting info and pics on it. I will be glad when I can score the 510,910, and the tree of life super magnum so this egas won't hurt so much lol.

The controls are: volume, midrange, and treble roll-off....quite a versatile guitar for just one pup. I have 4 of these: one Electra, 2 Ibanez, and one Starfield (which is Hoshino in English...pre TAMA).

It may surprise some of you guys, but these are Epiphone copies. Even the GIBSON HR is an Epiphone copy.
