This super cool, to me anyway! :D

Reminds me of neapolitan ice cream meets high end boutique guitar or something.

The Electra Lady never looked so good... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELECTRA-XV1RD-GUITAR-MIJ-Recreated-ARTIST-EL-DAGA-Elegant-Lady-/200656899660?pt=Guitar&hash=item2eb8154e4c

Just wait till you see this thing. :-? :o   :toopid: :eek2:   It'll be fun to hear everypne's opinions on this! :D

Don't like it; as a piece of art it's a little ordinary, and as a guitar, well, I'd be scared to play the thing!! My tuppence worth...

Shame, too, 'cause that's the one I'd like to get, the curvy one....

I don't mind the leather covering as it appears to have been done well, but the target market of buyers at $1700 is gonna be very, very slim....

I agree, this price is way over the top, and the cabinet knobs are lame!

But some weird band would look pretty cool jamming on this thing! It would sound good, anyway...

:bawl: :barf: :bawl: :barf:  Well I for one consider my red rocket ship original Lady a true work of art and craftsmanship. This one is way out there and I would classify it not as a red rocket but as space junk instead. What a tragic death to a great instrument and the price is out there in orbit also. These are limited in numbers of production and are rare to see in any condition but this looks hideous to say the least. You gotta love modern art to bite on this one. :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

So which is worse, this listing or.....

Remember earlier in the year when that idiot took a 2236 (and basically took a dump on it), created a James Hetfield tribute axe and then tried to get 5 grand for it on ebay?

That one really frosted my pumpkin... :x :x :x

Well this El Dega dude is really full of himself that's for certain. It is a shame that so many of the 80's Electra's had simple monotone finishes. Looking at the sides, it's even a bigger shame that SLM never put binding on those pointy guitars, because it looks pretty darn cool. It's worth what someone will pay for it, and looking at his completed auctions, business is slow.

Which is worse... hmm, I'd say the jeweled Lady is the bigger abomination. Having seen a number of Artist guitars, I have a soft spot for Tribute relics. The Hetfield was a heavy relic, and the guy who replicated it seemed to really try to get every scratch and gouge represented, you have to give him some credit there. Whether you are more outraged that he beat up a 30 year old guitar or that his asking price was in the stratosphere I can't tell, but in a way I think that was more of a piece of art than the gaudy lady here!
