I am simply confused why the guitar with an original case and two mpc modules on E-Bay did not bring but 430.00. the guitar looked flawless, and nobody seemed to bid more because of the modules, or the case, I own an x-710 in similar condition, with case and modules and would feel like I gave it away at that price, why do they sell so cheap? The quality of the guitars is clearly worth lots more, I guess I'll keep mine forever, if that is all they bring. Another thing is why does the Outlaw basses price so much higher, basses are usually priced less than six strings normally. thanks for reading .

I to saw this listing and was curious as they are great quality guitars. My guess is that the economy is the cause and with winter and the holidays forthcoming cash is getting even tighter.

That one somehow sneaked through. I saw it but couldn't bid. Someone had a pretty decent buy there.

Welcome aboard Tim. Hard to say about Guitar Markets. I think that things in general are a little soft currently, and we've seen some significant market saturation as of late. New manufacturers, tons of stuff from overseas flooding the market, as well as the uncertain future of the Economy looming over many buyers heads could surely be at work here.

Add to that the quirky nature of the Outlaw... you either love it, or kind of snicker when you see one. Columnist Michael Wright (a strong proponent of Japanese offerings) even found himself calling the Outlaw "A Potato Shaped Guitar" in one of his articles. It's an acquired taste I suppose.

Quality speaks for itself though, and any modern guitar made with a Mahogany Neck Through design would list for well over a grand these days. So take solace in the knowledge that some day the Collecting world will take note of these instruments made with old world growth woods... it's bound to happen!

Thanks for the input, I'me glad that i'me not the only one that thinks these are worth more than that. As for the shape, that just makes it unique to me. I have a x175 Phoenix also, and a EKO 12 string accoustic, that some people call electra. I will work on pictures when i have more time to figure out the download system. Starting to build a collection, thanks.Later!

The Outlaw Bass is a lot rarer than the Outlaw guitar, which had four different incarnations. The Bass is also a neck through Mahogany design, which puts a premium on it. In addition, a few pros have been spotted using them, so, it has that reputation going for it. That's my theory anyway.

I watched that Outlaw as well and was suprised too. I think there were 3 on there at 1 time, maybe that effected the price. Another X-730 that was pretty beat up didn't even get 1 bid at $250 or so. I own a X-730 and they are amazingly built guitars, well worth $250 i'd say, even with some dings. All original, it will play and sound the same as a clean one, right? :D . The market is crazy sometimes, some fall thru the cracks and others are overpriced cause of bidding wars. Always keep your eyes open! :look:

The Outlaw i was talking about has been relisted at $250. I forgot the neck was broken at one time and painted over. Probably broke the headstock right off and reglued it. That always steers people away and diminishes the guitar value, but here it is:
