I am new to this site but have owned my Omega X230 for about 6 years. I thought about selling it at one time but have since decided not to. I , however have many questions about it, for instance I got it with a old Global guitar from the same time period, both had cases but as I looked at this site I saw the case that the Global came in with my x230 in it. So naturally I tried to change them up but found the arch in my X230 neck was to great and would not let the case close. I will try to post pics but if anybody knows anything about this model that will help me keep and play it better I am all ears.

Welcome aboard. Your topic subject reminded me of 'Mongo' from Blazing Saddles! Cases get changed a lot, especially when guys are about to sell (gee, I like this case better... I think I'll keep it). Add to the mix that Electra advertised three or four different quality cases in their catalogs sometimes, so two identical models could have left the music store with different cases... it could happen.

Lots of cases from that era look identical from the outside. The neck rest is probably cut a little differently to accommodate different guitars. I have a couple of these

decent cases for the money (if you ignore the made in China), and I can confirm an Omega fits very well. I've "modified" a number of cases over the years to fit certain guitars. I can also confirm that's a bad idea. Bottom line for me - with cases, if the guitar doesn't fit just about perfectly, it's not the right case and I wouldn't use it for transport. Srorage at home is another matter - I have no problem with a decent padded gigbag since I know I won't be stacking stuff on it and the guitar goes from my hands, to the bag, and to a safe place.

Thanks for the welcomes. The weird thing about this case is it looks exactly like the one on the X230 page from this site. I never take this guitar out any way but just thought it would be really cool if I scored the original case in the deal I made. My X230 is not in the best shape some knicks and what not but plays out great, whoever had it road it hard and put it away wet if you know what I mean. I think it is all original parts and all but I think its missing the pick guard. Did this guitar have one or not when it was new?
