ha, I laughed when I saw that too. If that were true, I wouldn't like them as much as I do (a ton)! I wonder how they'd describe one of those rail basses? A cross between a P-Bass and a bicycle-rack?? ;->

I just recieved the new copy of Vintage Guitar magazine today and there just happens to be an article about the X935 in it. Pretty cool article, there is quite a bit of info on Electra history and the guitar and just seems respectful of them in general. Focuses more on the X935cs and its beautiful burst (some great pictures) and even mentions our own Tom Presely! Check it out.

Could there actually be some respect growing for our beloved Electra's???? I hope so. No I don't. Yes I do... It's a double edged sword. I guess I'd prefer it to remain "our" secret. A burst has been on my short list for awhile. I'll stop there before I go into full rant mode......and hijack the thread. Any way you could scan and post the article?

I was thinlking the same thing about the respect growing, then though of the thread on how prices are rising. I'd love to scan it, but don't have a scanner. I need to get one soon!

Who (what...) is on the cover, and what is the Issues Month?? (probably February of 2012 knowing publishers these days!). Would be curious who the columnist is too. Moseley likes to write about odd ball orphans, and Michael Wright is legendary for carrying the flag for Japanese guitars too.

I let my subscription to VG lapse because it was getting to be a real snobitorium there... It seems like there is more emphasis on Guitar Values than variety and innovation. They even started this column called Guitar 401K, as if the investing in guitars has become more important than the History and enjoyment of them. Wellll, maybe things are changing for the better at Vintage Guitar. Buy 'em while you can people, the cats out of the bag.

P.S. The X935cs is what drew me into the Electra line, little did I know they had 100 other models waiting to seduce me!

Spot on - its the Feb 2012 issue w/ Vince Gill on the cover. Michael Wright wrote the article as well.
I agree about the mag, sometimes it seems they think only 3 companies ever made guitars -Martin, Fender and Gibson. I have seen a couple of cool Uncle Matt guitar articles though, and i got a 2 year subscription as a gift, so what the hey.
