I have the set neck stereo version in fireglo and if blind folded I do not think you could tell any difference in the playability or sound. These are almost excact copies in every way.

the older bolt neck ones probably don't sounds as close, but you hear all sorts of people claiming they do...
but like Arthur stated, the neck through ones are good. similar pup designs for the most part... though the original bridge pup is kinda weird looking... Arthur's beautiful bass also has the advantage of having a real RIC bridge pup.

major difference in playability would be scale length...
RIC's are 33.25" scale. I think the bolt necks match that scale (see my electra pages link below for specifics), but the neck-thru Electras like Arthur's are 34" scale.

there were other neck-thru fakers that were true to scale though.
