I think there is a sad story behind this one. Here is the earlier auction that I almost pulled the trigger on, the bass body with electronics and telltale "Daniel Lee Sherer" engraved neck plate:

With the $65 buy it now, it was a pretty decent deal, but I just didn't really have any need for it.

The thing is, the whole Bass was on the bay a while back (with that neck plate, it stuck in my head), so I don't know if this is the original seller, or the guy who bought the bass and is now chopping it up. The Original, original auction is too old to search for now.

Anyway when that one was running I actually ran a Google search on the name just to see if it was anyone famous or anything, didn't really find much. But my imagination being what it is, I think that this Daniel Lee Sherer guy recently passed away, and his prized Bass being sold by his widow is now being chopped up by a parts guy... (totally fabricated in my head, but it made me sad... ) Could be a good story line for a Country song, maybe? Mike.
