There are two X160's on eBay currently, you go a year without seeing one, then three of them pop up in about a six week period... go figure. This one is the really nice one down in Mississippi:

The one you supplied a link to is unusual in that it appears to be Graphite (or olive?) finish. Supposedly these were only available in metallic brown, but I've had my suspicions that another finish was used, now we know for sure. The Graphite one is very late production with 'Westone/Electra' on the headstock, probably from mid 1984, and about as late as you'll see this model. The X165 Phoenix looks identical from the front with the four knobs in a diamond pattern and dual humbuckers (also available in Graphite), but the back confirms that this is a X160 with the separate Battery hatch and you can even see the mounting holes for the EQ board on the control cavity cover. Unusual and rare, somebody may find a real jewel by making an offer.

The X160 illustrates the excessive number of Phoenix models that were offered. Basically a X165 with the active circuit. Three models had dual humbuckers and the four knob control setup, the X155, X160 and X165.

Bottom line is that my X160 (in Metallic Brown) finally did show up. It's got some wiring issues and a couple missing parts, but was over $100 cheaper than the cream puff in Mississippi, so I rolled the dice and will eventually straighten it out. I'll be putting together an active EQ video soon now that I've bagged all five different models (only took three years!). Cheers, Mike.

Congrats on finishing the EQ models. What's your next grouping that you want to complete?
