This one is unusual color and also set neck. Maybe PCM but not certain. I do like the color but not certain on this one.

She's got holes like my x935cs does! Stinks. Not too noticeable though.

Perhaps the Bigsby strikes again?! :-? (maybe a Bigsby variant, anyway)

I can just about guarantee those holes were for a Roland pickup.

That guitar looks like a Korean build (Samick, Cort)...note the "e to e" scarf joint and the block construction of the body. The Japanese Electras were made up of a body made of blocks of Mohogany with a veneer on the back and a thin seperator laminate in the center of the billet...this guitar is a completely different build......I also think that it was made in the LATE 70's, most likely after '77.....it probably weighs a ton, but its a great looking guitar...I really dig the flame and that color !

A couple of last minute observations on this one (18 hours to go). Something is just not right about this one, that is as far as being a SLM product. The headstock shape is not right, the pickguard is screwed directly into the body (no bracket), the scarf joint at the headstock is different, the tuners I don't recognize... the list goes on and on. I don't think its a PCM either. Dave's point about the Korean origin may be spot on. Who was using the Electra name in the mid 80's is anyones guess. I also agree that with the semi-butcher block body, it probably weighs over ten pounds. Those holes definitely look like a synth pickup was mounted on there at one time.

That being said, I originally was very smitten with this example. The color in many respects is as good or better than the 'faded' 1959 reissues that Gibson sells for like 4 grand. I liked the highly figured top (and back) too. I have a feeling there will be a rash of bids at the end, good luck to all as I wont be making a run for it. If someone here does win, be sure to tell us how it sounds, and how much it weighs! Mike.
