hmmm... very interesting. I like it better than the production version. Not bidding on this, but will be keeping an eye on it.

Be fun to see what this sells for. Besides our forum members here, how many do you think will go after this thing? It is beautiful! Although I too like the production models better.

It says that Tom has more in his collections... if has a Dynasty anywhere in his "collection", I'll cry if I can't get it.

I've not spoken with Tim since the auction ended but I am pleased but not too surprised at the bids on this one. This proto had a build value of about $1800.00 due to the hand work on the body and the neck laminations.

I'm debating whether or not to sell the "sister" to the one that just sold. It has the potential to bid out at about the same as the construction is similar and has a more radical heel cut - which I cut myself while in Japan which required a complete re-do of the sealer. Also, the pickups in the later are totally hand wound - after about 5 trys!

A few years ago, I was offered $1200 for it and just couldn't let it go. Too sentimental I guess.....

Anyway, this Forum has added value to not only the Electra brand but also to me personally as you've all blown my ego through the top!!! Not deserved but much appreciated.

Frankly, I wish that more of my previous co-workers and partners were still around to see how their work is appreciated in 2013! Several have moved on to other careers while some aren't with us anymore. It was their dedication and passion that allowed the SLM crew to change a small segment of the industry.

I've said this before, but we're a very fortunate people to have you around on our forums (both here and the Westone forums). Your insight is invaluable and sincerely appreciated.

Please feel free to post any photos (especially photos from the manufacturing facilities, would love to see those), prototypes, or other info that you would be willing to share.

A lot of us have taken it upon ourselves to be caretakers of these Electra and Westone brands, historians and preservationists of sorts. It's become important to us and we love doing it!
