Any body got one?
I'm looking at installing an after market one so I can play it, but would eventually like to find an original.

Don't worry I'll be modifying the neck and not the body to fit the aftermarket neck.

Also, does any body know if the neck size is similar to the 2270c Tele copy Neck? The Tele copy neck seems a little cramped to me, and I kind of hope that the LP copy has a slightly larger neck.

Thanks

Still looking for the original neck, but I wanted to play with it while I'm waiting.
I modified a generic neck to fit into the Electra pocket. It came out real nice, but I could only find a neck with a black headstock. I'm not going to paint it, so I'm thinking about just replacing all of the white trim with black for awhile. What do you think?

I'm still holding out for the original neck so I don't want to make any permanent modifications, but black knobs, pick-guard, and pickup covers would be easy enough to get.

It's pretty beat up. I'm going to need some touch up paint. You can see where I cut the neck so that it would fit into the smaller pocket.

This crack bothers me, but nothing moves, so I'm going to continue believing that it's just in the paint.

This is my third Electra guitar, and it's by far the ugliest. I have no idea why I like it so much.

White Zephyrs are cool, they have Mojo.

You did a good job making it fit. Neck cracks like that are common and if they don't move are almost always in the paint.

Keep us posted!

It's a nice guitar, yours just had some bad luck. Actually, with correct measurements, I could have my dad machine a new neck from maple, but I'm not sure how long or how much it would cost to make.
The one you have now looks fine, and black hardware should help to make your guitar a little more unique. But, an original would still be a real nice treat.

It's funny, my Electra (1980) has no cracks at the neck, but my P-Bass (2005) does. Atleast it's only the finish though.

I've been playing it for awhile now, and I like it. The generic neck has a little sharper edges along the fingerboard than I like, but if I keep this neck on it I will probably bind it anyway. I can fix the sharpness then.

I've measured other Electra necks, and due to the smaller pocket, I think they are a little narrower along the entire length. This certainly seems to be the case with my 2255WC Tele model. However, my X740 Outlaw is actually larger than, what I consider to be, average. I would still like to find the original neck, but if it is the same size as the neck on my 2255WC, I probably wouldn't change it right away. The narrower neck just doesn't leave enough room for my clumsy fingers.

The guitar is a keeper. I'm trying to decide whether or not to touch up the paint. I can have paint matched, but as old beat up guitars go this one is pretty cool, and I have considered just sealing the open wood and leaving it chipped up. That crack by the neck is definitely just in the finish, it hasn't moved at all in the weeks that I have had the guitar strung up, so no worries there.

The pictures I attached really don't do it justice. someday, I'm gonna have to buy a real digital camera, and stop using my cell phone to take pictures.
