I'm looking for a tremelo whammy bar for a 1972 Electra 2227 hollowbody guitar. Anybody have one for sale? It's like the one shown in the picture. http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/2227.php Please contact me at hattrick48309@yahoo.com. Thank you.

If it's a screw in I can probably make one for you. :D

BeatenPhoenix,

Would it be like an original? How much would one cost me? Do you have an email address that I can contact you directly?

I'll give you my e-mail, when I'm not on my phone.

The bar can be made like the original, or cheaper if you go strat style. I can't chrome it though. And take this with caution, as I can't guaruntee I can make it yet.

I have 3-4 guitars worth of parts for this model, but the only thing I'm not sure on is the bigsby style tremolo bar. I'll check and get back to you. Either way, it is really a fascinatingly ordinary hunk of metal and any replacement that fits (like Beatenphoenix's) will fill the same function.

I can't help but wonder; do you want the bar for sentimental/collector purposes, or for playability? If sentimental/collector, be aware that lack of a bar probably won't change the value any significant amount. If for playability, then I encourage you to reconsider adding a bar. Most I have seen have the bar removed because frankly the guitar doesn't stay in tune worth **** if you use it. IMHO, better off to flip the little roller over and thread the strings backwards in a fixed position. I can take a picture if you aren't sure what I mean.

Regards,
Oreo
