I know it's a long shot but...... I'm searching for a set of these to complete my 2281 Elvin restoration.

Aw man, not to rub it in, but you just missed this set:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160713590673?ss ... 500wt_1141

Which I'm thinking you already know about because you lifted the pic from the auction! And they went cheap. I bid on them (half-heartedly) as an ElectraFest giveaway, I was beat, and the price was still super low. Sorry, I won't let it happen again.

Ouch! - not so hard.....it burns.
I bid on those too and my head had to have been somewhere else 'cause I fell apart on it. I think I was chasing a pickguard or something. But - yup - those are the ones I'm after. I can't seem to find a set of 2 screw tulips anywhere - but it's not as if any old set would do. I'm crossing my fingers that someone out there in Electra-Land will have a set gathering dust.

There's a set included with this Vulcan:

They aren't tulips, but they are two screw Electras, right vintage. Maybe you could track down the winner, or maybe you need a Maple Vulcan project? Cheers, Mike.

That Vulcan is decent and could be fixed fairly easily. Good luck finding a tortoise pickguard though. Realistically, if I bought that Vulcan, I'd just stick those original tuners right back on it and be left with a set of Schallers and still be looking for the "right" ones for Elvin.

FWIW - I see zillions of Electra's with swapped out tuners. I think the originals are pretty decent, not fantastic, but I've never had a real problem with them. With all the swapped out guitars I've seen, you'd think Electra tuners would surface a little more frequently.

Jay, I've got a set of Electra tuners like the set with the Vulcan above-not the tulip style, but the two screw with the Electra emblems if your interested, one emblem partially rubbed off.
I can't believe those tulips went that cheap, rarely show up.

Thanks OC - let me think on it. I'm still hoping to hear back from the guy I bought the guitar from. I gave him an email nudge yesterday so I'll give him some response time. I'll let you know.
