Hey there, I was just curious. But is it possible to make custom modules for the mpcs. I'm sure someone has brought to this up *sorry if they did*.

So far as I know there are no extra modules made by anyone out there at present. There is a upgrade available on the power Overdrive module. Our own forum member Thorny does a great job with the upgrade. If you have a standard power overdrive he can upgrade it to a much better sound. Other than that I know of no others at present.

I suppose if you found a way to gut an MPC and had a vast amount of electronics know how you -could- possibly build a custom effect.

Custom effects are not hard to build, if you like that sort of thing, there are DIY sites like this with circuits:

http://www.harpamps.com/schematics/

If it were me I'd modify an existing effect, and compare the MPC schematic to see what size control pot is on an MPC. Once you did the figuring, it'd basically be a matter of wiring a connector to plug into the module slot. I'd start with a Guyatone micro, or maybe one of the new EH, they're small enough to actually fit in there.

... or you could leave your Electra as is and use the standard MPC's along with other effects / pedals on the floor, or something in a rackmount.

Good points indeed.
Oh and I plan on leaving my electra nice and original. However what I've learned about pedals is that sometimes the best sound isn't always the original hardware, but when its been dissected and messed with. With such an original guitar having some original modules wouldn't sound so bad :_-),

If you had a dead effect module I can't see that it would hurt to try and use the shell. For a custom one you would have to find the same connector.
