I finished this a couple of weeks ago. I did all the construction and assembly and sent it to my local luthier for final setup. I posted on another thread and quickly removed it as I felt I might be jacking the thread. Anyways, here it goes.

It's not an Electra, it's a home built tele. I have a pretty neat 5 way setup that gives me an extra "out of phase" setting, and also an acoustic sounding position. The body is ash and walnut, the neck I didn't make and it is Japanese. The neck I picked up off of ebay for $81 including shipping and it was new, unfinished. That neck rocks! I really feel I stole it, but who knows. Anyway, pics are below.

Mortarman, thank you. I would like to add you could definitely do this. I learned from surfing the web and looking at sites like these. I don't want to drive traffic away from here, but I definitely recommend the "tele home depot" sub forum at tdpri.com if you are interested in doing this. I literally learned everything I know from reading other people's build posts on that forum. It is an invaluable tool and an unforseen advantage for me of the internet.

What a fantastic, unique-looking guitar! I don't play Teles worth s*** or I'd be copying you right now!

Thanks Jack. The only thing I would do different with that body is try to piece the wood together so that the standard position for the control rout would be centered on the walnut "line".

Tele depot is a great site - and not just tele stuff, but just guitar stuff in general.

Your guitar looks awesome sandspur. For the love of pete - don't let anyone talk you into 'finishing' the body!

I dig the orange Scout as well.

The body is finished, but I used very thin coats of wipe on poly and I also did not use any grain filler. It took awhile to finish because of this but it left a very thin, durable finish on it. Thanks for the comment on the guitar and the Scout. I was wondering when someone would notice it :) I will never get rid of that old Scout. It is too much darn fun :D
