You guys holding up ok with the latest winter storms coming through? We got the first big slap and the next one which is temps in the -0- area is on its way. All the snow went to the north by 20 miles and we got all the ice. We dont get much of this kinda stuff so its a real show stopper for everything. With ice on the ground and 0* temps the ice wont go away anytime soon. Hope you guys are all safe and sound. Hey if you cant get out, play those Electras.

Stay warm,

I had to drive the family home from North Carolina to Michigan yesterday. We tried to leave early to beat the storm, but was not fully successful. Driving through Northern Virginia into West Virginia was sketchy but cleared up into Ohio. We made it home safe, but I want to tip my hat to you guys who are dealing with this storm.

We were going to head to our place in Vermont but the storm track just made that a bad idea. All my Electras are there tough. Guess I will make do with my APII's.

That weather in the north even makes the news over here; looks positively harrowing!!

We've got a tropical cyclone heading our way ...

Stay safe, guys!!

Still covered up here. Haven't had it this bad in many a year. Guess I'll just have to stay home and play guitar... yeah, that's it. ;-) ((silver lining))

Gonna try making it to the main roads today. Had some snow last night, maybe get some traction now. Plus neighbor said county road crew making a cameo appearance today so we'll see.

Kids have been off school all week, so cold I think they are afraid the kids will lose body parts waiting for the buss. Plus the temps are so cold the don't treat the roads with chemicals because it is too cold for them to be effective. We had a windchill of -15 or so this morning, and temps broke the record (degrees F not C!). We have snow and ice, but no freezing rain (thank GOD). I just shipped a guitar to a guy in NC and told him to leave it in the box in his house for a few hours to acclimate before he unboxes it. I saw a LP one time shatter like a paul stanley mirror guitar when a guy brought it in from his car to the heated room and open the case. Well, I saw it AFTERWARDS, not actually when it happened. They said you could see the cracks spread like a veins through dracula after you take the wooden stake out his heart (watched too many horror movies as a kid). My garage is my workshop and is not really heated, so I am not getting much done inside there right now. I have a few projects on hold because of that.

We are lucky though, no power or heat problems, and we have food. We are close to an open interstate highway and for those that came to Electrafest this last year, the Lloyd Expressway is open. So I am just complaining, we are really doing quite well. That freezing rain is MUCH WORSE because we had tree come down everywhere a few years back during an event and electricity was off for several days that time. So I will stop complaining while I am ahead

No typhoon either - thank goodness! Batten down the hatches! Stay safe.

I made it to work Friday, it started snowing around 1 and turned to freezing rain. Left work around 7:30 that night and took me 2 1/2 hrs to get home. Saturday morning was worse but the temps came up. Slush on top of ice aint much fun either. Cleared out for the most part now but the back roads around here( around our house ) are still bad enough to close the schools again this week. We ventured out to the store today and there was still food there.

I've never, ever understood this ....

.... we've just had a tropical cyclone through the coastal regions but looking at the weather radar and modelling and stuff, it looked likely that only the area directly in it's path when it made landfall would be badly affected, and so it proved; it hit the coast as a Cat5 cyclone and immediately was downgraded to a tropical low!!

The point is that people down here - 400 miles away from where it made landfall - went into panic mode and the shops emptied of milk, bread and other perishables in a heartbeat! I can't help thinking that the mass and social media hyped the bloody thing up so much that the sheeple got overloaded with bad vibes and paniced and went mad buying stuff that they probably already had enough of at home anyway!!

Even the petrol stations were a madhouse as people queued for hours to fill their tanks....

Crazy, man!

Right now our driveway is the worst part. Most roads have finally cleared. Yes - nights have been harrowing with everything refreezing.

Isn't spring just a few weeks away?
